Hate to Love You by Tijan
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publication Date: August 28th
Rating: 4 stars
Rule #1: No hot guys.
It might sound ridiculous. I get it. It kind of is, but college was supposed to be my
sanctuary. It was my place to start over. The rumors, the whispers, and the jealousy I
endured through high school would all be gone. No one would know me at college.
Rule #2: No drama.
I’d major in pre-law. I’d make a few loyal friends. Everything would be easy breezy. No one was going to use me or hurt me. I wouldn’t let them.
Rule #3: New year. New place. New me.
And all because of Shay Coleman.
Football captain and quarterback, he was the big guy on campus. The cocky guy in my political science class with a smirk. I hated him on sight. . . and he was about to break all my rules.

Tijan has a way of pulling you into a story and consuming you with it; Hate to Love You is no different. The story is intriguing, full of suspense in only the way Tijan can do it, and it was definitely a perfect college, enemies to lovers romance.
It took me awhile to really love Kennedy. She was alright in the beginning, definitely someone I wanted to know more of, but her walls were so high even I, as a reader, couldn’t figure her out. After understanding her story I could relate, but in the beginning she came across as snobbish and dramatic. With all of that said….I did fall in love with her….she grew on me, just not as quickly as I would have liked. Shay on the other hand was someone I immediately connected with. He was down-to-earth and so understanding about the world around him. He’s basically the perfect book boyfriend in everyway…I literally couldn’t get enough of him.
Together Kennedy and Shay fit, there is no other way to describe their connection or their relationship. In the beginning Kennedy wanted him to be off limits because of some things in her past, but Shay was who she needed and it was obvious.
The overall storyline was really good…I stayed interested the entire time, so much so that it was hard to put down. Tijan created yet another world I wanted to fall into and never leave; Hate to Love You is just another reason why I have loved this author for as long as I have.
