–Synopsis: When a drunk driver tragically orphans Skylar Rose at the young age of sixteen, she leaves her dreams behind and takes on the daunting task of helping her elderly grandmother raise her young sister. While other girls her age were living a typical carefree life, she was picking up double shifts at a local café and struggling to pay the bills.
Always putting her sister’s needs and school first, Skylar has never had time to date or develop intimate relationships. Now a senior in college, she has her sights set on an amazing internship opportunity. The last thing she needed was for a sexy distraction like Sebastian Thorne to walk into her life.
Sebastian Thorne had been an entitled and reckless nineteen year old when he got behind the wheel of his new sports car that night. When his night of indulgence goes tragically wrong, Sebastian hesitantly turns to the one person, he knows can make everything go away… The one person he hates… his father.
Now twenty-six, Sebastian is the young enigmatic and powerful CEO of his late father’s design company, Thorne Enterprises. With both millions in the bank and a new woman on his arm almost every night, the world never knew the dark secret he carried inside. Still plagued with nightmares from the night of that horrific accident and having to leave the beautiful girl behind, Sebastian vows to find the one that haunts his dreams.
Sometimes the choice of revisiting our past opens the door to a future that we never thought possible.
But what do you do when the person who gave you back your life, was the very one that took it from you in the first place?
Wow! If you’re looking for a drama-filled, passion-packed story then ROSE OF THORNE is definitely for you! Seriously, this book is one highly intense scene after another.
The storyline in general isn’t too probable because Skylar really has some bad luck and I just don’t see it happening in real life but don’t let that take away from the overall experience of the novel. With everything this heroine goes through she doesn’t give up; she pushes through and finds her own way. In the beginning I thought Skylar was just too… naive but as the story progressed I found myself rooting for her and actually liking her. Sebastian is..well…for lack of a better description…all alpha male. OMG this man is the epitome of beautiful and rugged. He is the perfect mixture and I was swooning hard for this man. Lucas isn’t too bad either, let me tell ya’ll. He seems like another pretty, bad-boy that I found I could easily get attached to (if my heart wasn’t already caught up in Sebastian *wink*wink*)
The characters fit good together and they were very well thought out. I loved the different POV’s and I personally think Mia Michelle did a fantastic job at making all of these different angles flow. The different POV’s, in my opinion, helped me connect better with the book. It enraptured me completely.
I am so caught up in this storyline. Even though I don’t find it probable it doesn’t take away from the book at all. In fact, I absolutely loved getting caught up in the drama. I could literally see each scene playing out in my head like an action-packed film. I’m so ready for the next installment because believe me…Mia Michelle leaves you wanting more!!!! For a debut novel this is exceptional and I seriously can’t wait to read more from this author!!
ROSE OF THORNE is a story of true heartbreak, love and love lost, secrets, and regret. It is so action-packed that you will not want to put it down until you’ve gobbled up every bit that you can. Seriously, go get this book now!!!!
