Synopsis: Rush promised her forever… but promises can be broken.
Torn between his love for his family and his love for Blaire, Rush has to find a way to save one without losing the other. In the end one has to be more important. Letting go isn’t easy.
Blaire believed in her fairytale… but no one can live in a fantasy.
Her love for Rush and desire to have a family keep her believing that they can find a way for this to work. Until she has to make the right decision for her and the baby. Even if it breaks her heart.
Can they find the forever that they both want or has it all just gone… too far?
Rating: 4/5 stars
My likes: I’m so in love with the FALLEN TOO FAR series. When I first met Blaire she was innocent but tough and I loved that about her. Rush….oh, what to say about the breathtakingly hot and cold Rush Finlay….He was a bad boy that was broken so what girl wouldn’t fall deeply in love with him?? FOREVER TOO FAR met all of my expectations and more. The story line was perfect and Rush was so overprotective it was cute at times! Don’t get me wrong, Rush was Rush and screwed up but he was man enough to admit it and Blaire was woman enough to forgive him. IT WAS AMAZING! Abbi Glines did an awesome job of carrying Rush and Blaire’s story out. She [Ms. Glines] also did awesome at
blending in the parts that were in TWISTED PERFECTION. I was sort of worried about that but it was perfect. Honestly. She incorporated it very well.
My dislikes: I can’t find one thing I did not like about FOREVER TOO FAR. I only gave it 4/5 stars because it wasn’t my favorite out of the three books. I’m probably speaking for every reader that has been just as much in love with Blaire and Rush as I have when I say I only hated that it ended! Yeah, yeah..I know what your saying…I’m such a fangirl. I admit it!
My Summary: FOREVER TOO FAR picks up right where NEVER TOO FAR ends. Rush’s dad, Dean, comes into the picture. I have to say that my expectations of Dean were pretty low but again, as always, Ms. Glines shocks me. We can all tell that Dean is a rockstar. The very epitome of the word but he does treat Blaire with respect. I even found myself liking him more that I thought I would. I think Rush was kind of shocked too that Dean took up with Blaire. It was pretty sweet. When Dean comes in Blaire instantly sees that Rush really doesn’t want Dean to be there, but she completely took it wrong…thinking Rush didn’t tell Dean that she was pregnant and that he didn’t want him there because Rush didn’t want Dean to know. But we, the readers, already know that’s wrong! Rush is so excited about the pregnancy and he only hadn’t told Dean yet because he hadn’t had time.
Thanksgiving comes around and it is a happy time for everyone. (well as much as it can be since this is Blaire’s first thanksgiving without her mom). Rush helps make this a good holiday with a surprise that I even teared up on! (read to find out!)
Anyway, Blaire and Rush end up going to stay with Dean for awhile so Rush can help Nan and Kiro sort things out. (Remember Blaire’s dad ended up NOT being Nan’s father but Kiro, a band member, is.) While there, as usual, Nan, demands Rush’s time and it really puts Rush in a bad situation. Nan isn’t well. We all know this and in FOREVER TOO FAR we see just how bad off she really is. Also, Kiro’s other daughter, Harlow, is introduced. She’s a sweetie and I instantly take a liking to her. So does Blaire for that matter. She’s more of an introvert…everything Nan isn’t.
As time goes on Rush spends more and more time away from Blaire in order to take care of Nan. Nan still can’t stand Blaire and at times makes her out to be the bad guy to Rush. During this time while Rush is always away something happens to Blaire and the baby. It literally had me scared to death…and eventually Rush finds out about it. Thankfully Harlow was with Blaire when all this went down.
After the incident Blaire can’t take anymore. She hates the fact that Rush always has to choose between her and Nan and she hates even more she always get chosen last. She flies out to stay with her father to try and think things through. There Blaire also finds out some interesting news about her father. I was shocked….so shocked. I did not see this coming at all!! Anyway, Rush rushes out to her to apologize and promise to always put her first. Everything is forgiven and Blaire goes back home to be with Rush.
Once back home Rush puts down his foot and demand the wedding be moved up as quickly as possible. So it was. The wedding was perfection. Every detail was beautiful and of course Rush had a few surprises up his sleeve. I didn’t think I could fall more in love with Rush Finlay but I did. It was just beautiful.
During wedding preparations the book does this strange and wonderful thing….It switches to Grant’s and Harlow’s point of view on things!!! (omg…I’m not saying another word…but it’s awesome!)
Anyway…after the wedding Christmas comes and Blaire is in the spirit of well…Christmas. Rush loves it of course because he’s never really did the ‘celebrate with family’ thing and it’s amazing to see the difference in him now from when I first met him. During all these books we have seen Rush mature into a great, great man. *swoon*And again…Rush gives Blaire a Christmas ‘gift’ she will never, ever forget!!!
After Christmas (three months later actually) is when we finally get to the part I’ve been dying to read about…BLAIRE HAS THE BABY!!!! Of course, I was scared and nervous for Blaire and Rush both but they did great. Ms. Glines, again, did not disappoint with the happy ending. I’m not going to go into detail or the birth because it was great and I couldn’t do it justice.
Things with the baby (insert name here) were good for Rush and Blaire. Rush was overprotective as usual and Blaire was exhausted at times and ready to pull her hair out because Rush was being creepy, overprotective at other times. Reading about Rush with his son was precious and I’m so thankful Ms. Glines gave us, the readers, a glimpse into this part of Rush and Blaire’s life. Well, as we all know when things start getting peaceful Nan shows up and is still as mean as ever, but I’m glad Rush finally puts his little family first. It’s sad that even now he still has to “choose” but I’m assuming that’s the way it is alway going to be.
We get more glimpses from Grant’s point of view (which I love) and we also get to see Bethy, Blaire, and Della meet and talk. We also see some crazy crap happen to poor Della but good ole Blaire and her gun are there to save the day!!!
Would I recommend this book? My answer is a definite yes, yes, yes, yes! The book had everything. Love, drama, craziness….it was awesome and it will forever be in my top 10 favorites. If you’ve read other Abbi Glines novels then please, please pick this one up next…well after you read the first two books in the series. I promise you…you will fall in love just like I did.
