A startling new vision of paranormal romance: When a human ventures into the world of vampires—a decadent milieu of blood-bonds and betrayal—she discovers that not all is what it seems.
For Reyna Carpenter, giving up her body isn’t a choice. It’s survival.
In a civilization laid waste by poverty and desperation, Reyna accepts a high-paying position with the wealthy and hungry vampire elite. Her new job is as the live-in blood escort for the intimidating, demanding, and devilishly handsome Beckham Anderson. He’s everything she expected from a vampire, except for one thing—he won’t feed off her.
Reyna soon discovers that behind Beckham’s brooding, wicked façade lies a unique and complex man. And that, in a dark and divided world, she is more valuable than she ever would have believed.
For with each passing night, Reyna can’t shake the sensation that it’s Beckham who’s afraid of her.
Note: Reyna and Beckham’s story continues in Blood Match.

Have you been needing a good vampire romance lately? With angst, mystery, and characters you can’t get enough of? Look no further than K.A. Linde’s Blood Type. Holy crap! This book blew me away. I devoured it within hours and needed more after it was over. This storyline consumed me in every way and I’m so ready for the next installment; just know…Blood Type does, in fact, end in a cliffhanger.
“Everyone is corrupt. Everyone is broken.”
“I’m not,” she whispered.”
“Oh Little One, this world will kill the goodness left within your beating heart.”
“But it will not break me.”
“No,” he agreed. He leaned his head into her hair and drew a deep breath. “I will do that.”
Everything about this book is so well developed; the characters are amazingly thought out and it’s like their personalities jump off the pages. I fell in love with both Beckham and Reyna. Beckham’s character was full of angst and intrigue while Reyna was hot headed, brave, and so relatable in almost every way possible. She’s human with all the complicated emotions and thought processes while Beckham, the vampire, is shrouded in all the mystery that a character like him should be. He has many layers and I loved how Reyna peeled them back little by little in her own human-like way.
The world Linde has created is so detailed and thought provoking that it was easy to get lost in. When we readers enter into it, Vampires have already came out of hiding and have established themselves as a part of functioning society. In fact, they have taken over and are in no way finished making the world more vampire-friendly. Because of this and a fallen economy most humans just can’t make ends meet. This is why Reyna decides to become a blood escort so she can help contribute to her family’s financial needs. By random selection (or was it), she is chosen for Beckham’s permanent escort, a new program at Beckham’s corporation, Visage, was slowly rolling out. This is where things get good…
Beckham isn’t too keen on a permanent escort; reason being is that he has his own motives and she doesn’t fit into his life or the plan that he’s laid out. She’s a means to an end, but he isn’t prepared for Reyna because she becomes so much more than just something to appease his boss. She ensnares him and enchants him like no other ever has. When things start heating up at Visage Reyna is smack dab in the middle of it and we are left trying to figure out if their personal relationship can withstand the issues in their professional lives.
In Linde fashion, the chemistry between Reyna and Beckham is off the charts! It was a palpable type of need in both of them that leaves readers breathless and needing more. I loved how the instant attraction was there but both fought to keep it at bay, but in the end just couldn’t deny themselves any longer. Sure, there are huge hiccups in their way and believe me…it’s so much more than he’s a vampire and she’s a human. The overall plot was fast paced and has a depth to it that just fascinated me and put me in awe of Linde’s talent.
Everything about this book is so good and I’m so, so ready for the next installment that releases June 26, 2018.
