BAD FOR YOU (Sea Breeze #7) by Abbi Glines
Publication Date: April 1, 2014

My Rating: 5 stars
Innocence isn’t meant for the addictive…The next sultry affair in the New York Times bestselling Sea Breeze Collection by Abbi Glines is unstoppably steamy.
Addiction is part of Krit Corbin’s nature—and women have always been his favorite obsession. But that’s the life of a lead singer in a band. He can have any woman he wants—anywhere, anytime. Well, except for one.
Blythe Denton is used to being alone. The minister’s family who raised her never accepted her as their own, and the cruel minister’s wife made sure Blythe understood just how unworthy she was of love. So when she finally gets the chance to live by herself, Blythe takes it and moves into an apartment building with a loud upstairs neighbor who keeps throwing parties all night long.
It’s during one such party when Krit opens the door to find his new neighbor standing there. Blythe wants him to turn down the music, but he convinces her to stay. She’s nothing like the women who parade in and out of his apartment, but Krit can’t resist her—her brown hair, cute glasses, and sexy innocence is too much for him to ignore.
Determined to win Blythe over, Krit Corbin may have just found his biggest addiction yet.
***This novel can be read as a standalone and has no cliffhanger***
Damn. Abbi Glines has done it again!
I never thought I’d love someone the way I loved Cage York..
and then I met Preston Drake. He was my Sea Breeze hottie and I knew for a fact that Abbi couldn’t make me love anyone as much as I loved him.
And then I met Krit Corbin.
Sexy rocker with blazing blue eyes that has tattoos and piercings in all the yummy places? Ah, yes please! He is every woman’s fantasy and believe me, people, he knows it! Music and women are his addiction; his way of escaping his crappy past. It’s worked for him and his life as the lead singer of Jackdown has put him in the position to get whoever and whatever he wants any time he wants it. That is until he meets Blythe Denton. She’s been given a bad lot in life but it hasn’t stopped her from turning into the sweet, caring, and beautiful person that she is. Everyone sees how good and innocent Blythe is, especially Krit so he’s determined to stay away and not break her. But with his addictive personality can he really stay away from the one thing that not only his body wants but also his heart?
In this whirlwind novel where innocence meets corruption and opposites certainly do attract, Abbi Glines gives us an impeccably written romance of a naughty rocker and his virtuous sweetheart. It. Is. Amazing.
Going into BAD FOR YOU I sort of knew Krit’s background and where he came from, but I wanted more. Why did he go through women like nobody’s business? Was he able to really get over Jess? These are the questions that swirled through my mind all day yesterday as I patiently waited for BAD FOR YOU to download on my iPad. Krit is impulsive and loud and everything Blythe isn’t. He knows she’s too good…too innocent for him…
She wasn’t someone I could mess with. She was fragile. The mores time I had spent with her, the more I realized just how fragile she was. I wasn’t good with fragile. I broke shit. I’d never forgive myself if I broke her. That would likely destroy me.–Krit, BAD FOR YOU.
Even knowing this he couldn’t stay away. He needed to be near her even if it was just as a friend. But could Krit really just be friends? Especially with someone he wanted more than his next breath?
When I was first introduced to Blythe I connected with her almost immediately. Abbi’s characterization is out of this world and she creates these people in a way that you not only sympathize with them…you empathize with them. You hurt when they hurt…you laugh when they laugh. It is one of the most amazing things to experience and you get that experience every time you read an Abbi Glines novel. When Blythe meets Krit while moving into her own apartment for the first time her world is opened up to things and feelings she has never experienced before. She didn’t know how to react to Krit wanting to be her friend. She didn’t understand it but she knew she wanted it…
I would be willing to be whatever he needed. No one had ever needed anything from me before. The idea that he might need me for something made me feel special. –Blythe, BAD FOR YOU.
The chemistry between these two characters is explosive! And Krit’s dirty talk had me blushing more than Blythe! I loved it….I couldn’t get enough of them together. Krit’s possessiveness had me swooning. Like seriously….every inch of me was a big puddle of gooeyness once I finished BAD FOR YOU. Seeing a rocker who usually cared about no one, especially the long line of women he ran through get all alpha-male on a sweet, innocent like Blythe? Come on….I’m swooning now just thinking about it.
I had gotten so lost in it that I hadn’t realized she was making loud enough noises for them to hear her. I didn’t want them to hear her noises. I didn’t want anyone to hear her noises. Those were my motherfucking noises. Mine. Pulling her into my lap, I pressed her head against my chest as I glared at all of them. I hated them all. Every fucking one of them.–Krit, BAD FOR YOU.
Blythe and Krit are so completely different from each other on so many levels but they’re also a lot alike. Their childhoods left their lives in shambles and the people who were suppose to love and protect them didn’t. They weren’t given a chance to feel worthy or needed and their raising left huge scars emotionally and mentally. But together they compliment each other so well. Blythe helps Krit feel needed and Krit helps Blythe understand her worth. This story isn’t just your typical romance. It’s about finding one’s self and accepting it and allowing others to accept that as well.
The overall storyline was fabulous. I was sucked in from the very beginning and I read this entire novel within 5 hours. I couldn’t put it down because it was just that good. I’m still reeling from it and I’m pretty sure I will be re-reading it very soon. With every book Abbi writes I keep thinking she can’t get any better but then she does. BAD FOR YOU is definitely one of the best books I have read in a really long time.
