Once upon a time, I thought love was a fairytale.
My prince was a Beast with blood on his hands and ice in his veins. My family offered to save me. The only price: leaving the tattered pieces of my heart behind.
Our love was irrational. Cruel. Unforgiving. Nothing like the storybooks said it should be—but it was perfect.
The longer we were apart, the more I lost myself. He was vicious and domineering, but I craved the submission. Together we were destructive, but I was addicted to the devastation. Still, I thought titles mattered. To my family I was princess, and to the Beast I was slave. I was too naïve to understand that even though he’d been my captor, he’d broken the shackles on my soul.
Once upon a time, I thought love meant happily ever after.
Now I know better.

Holy crap this author is amazing! I fell hard for MCG when I first read BEAST back when it came out. I was hooked from the start and I couldn’t get enough of this dangerously dark world she’d thrown me into.
“If loving her was playing with fire, then it was wildfire, and he wanted to let it rage because nothing felt better than being licked by her flames.” –Anteros
MCG gave us the perfect….absolutely most breathtaking….conclusion to Anteros and Frankie’s story. This story had it all…the drama, the intrigue, the freakin’ badassery plot!!! The list just goes on and on!!! From the very start of BEAUTY we are thrown back into this vivid world of chaos and mayhem, only this time things have taken a turn for the worst. Frankie is being pulled from all directions while Anteros is trying to keep his business and himself above water. I was literally on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading this.
“My body was screaming that I was too tired to do this, but I didn’t care. I would be his doll. A beautifully broken doll, willing to let him use the leftover pieces of me.” –Frankie
The chemistry between Anteros and Frankie isn’t just physical; it’s emotional and it’s touches them on every level. It moves like it has a mind of its own and the pull is so tense and so raw that we, as readers, feel it so epically. That’s what, I believe, is so special about Mary Catherine’s writing; she has this way of making us feel the exact emotions of the characters. It’s unnerving in the best way.
“Foolish girl,” he said, planting his lips on mine for a harsh kiss. “Still thinking that anything you do or say could affect how I feel about you. If only you would stay the f*ck still and let me love you.” –Anteros
I am so enamoured with this book. I loved everything about it. The pace was perfect and the plot was well executed. I never wanted it to end. I am a Mary Catherine Gebhard fan for life.
