This month didn’t go as well as expected for me. I had intended to read a butt-load of books, but with KB finishing up school that just didn’t happen. I still read some amazing reads and found some pretty cool new-to-me author so I still consider June a win, I guess.
The June Kindle Unlimited challenge did not go so well, haha. I read a few but not all, but I do plan on looking into the authors on that list when I have the time this upcoming month.
The books I read & reviewed during June:
As you can see I really didn’t read many extra books and I plan on writing reviews for the ones I haven’t yet.
Books I added to my home library:
I bought Harriet the Spy for my 7-year-old. She’s still a little young for a book that size, but I’m starting to collect books I fell in love with when I was younger. Harriet is what got me started journaling and I actually believe that alone saved my life numerous times growing up.
Jamie McGuire’s Beautiful Disaster has been a book on my many shelves for a long time, but the beauty I bought this month is an indie copy!! It’s huge compared to the traditionally published version! I was so excited to find it on Thriftbooks and I snatched it up ASAP.
The Stone Guardian is another book I’ve already had the pleasure of reading but I want to point that that Thriftbooks came through again and gave me a freakin’ signed copy! I didn’t know it was signed at the time and so it was an awesome surprise! I even contacted the author to verify that it was her signature and it was! Thanks, Thriftbooks!
All of the other books listed are books I want to read sometime over the summer. Believe it or not I’ve never read anything by Helena Hunting and these look really good, and of course, Christina Lauren is one of my faves!
Up next for July:
So far, for July, I have 7 books I plan on reading for blog tours and then I’m hoping to squeeze in 2 or 3 more from my own TBR list. Honestly, there is a lot of great authors releasing books this month and I can’t wait to help support them in any way that I can. I’ve also committed myself to reviewing a children’s book through NetGalley with the help of my daughter. She’s got her own summer reading list so what’s 1 more book, haha.
I hope ya’ll are having a great start to your summer. We’re getting lots of rain here in upstate New York, but we’re trying to make the most of it.
