Author: Molly McAdams
Series: A Redemption Novel
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Synopsis: The next captivating installment in New York Times bestselling author Molly McAdams’s Redemption series.
As the Princess of the Irish-American Mob, there’s no shortage of men ready to help guard and protect me. To slowly suffocate me to the point of seeking freedom—a place where I can breathe.
Kieran Hayes has been saving me for as long as I can remember. It’s in his blood, and one of the many reasons I fell in love with him. Until my favorite trait became his biggest flaw, making me resent the man I love. An unwavering warrior, his love for me has been shrouded by those instincts.
Save Lily. Protect Lily. Hide Lily. Cage Lily.
What I wasn’t prepared for was Dare—the man who would set my world on fire with just one touch. He saw straight through to my soul, as though he knew I was desperate for freedom, and silently demanded my heart from the beginning.
And I didn’t expect Dare to be Demitri Borello—the reason for so many deaths in my family. A man who will take my life the moment he finds out who I am.
Despite it all, I’ll love him until that moment comes.
A fire will die if there is no oxygen for it to consume. Ours is rapidly stealing every last breath we can sacrifice to it.

This book….omg ya’ll this book gave me heart palpatations and not in the “I think I’m in love, swoon-this-and swoon-that type of way.” There is so much angst and hope when all hope has seems to be lost…it broke my heart over and over again. There is just so much going on and I felt as if my entire being was completely pulled in all different directions. Honestly, there is a big aspect of this book that just did not sit right with me, but I can’t help but give this book 4 stars because of the way it touched me and left me gasping for breath with my heart hanging out of my chest and mind reeling from the aftershock that was/is Firefly. Molly McAdams captivated me and took me on a journey that I wasn’t very comfortable with, but endured it anyway because I just had to know; I needed closure. And when an author can grip you like she griped me then yeah….she definitely did something right with this book.
“The thing is…we’re not meant to be. And yet, I’m positive I was made for your son, and he was made for me. I fell in love with him knowing the universe would do anything to prevent it. And it’s an irreversible, world-changing kind of love.”
Lily has been through so much and so it was really hard to fault her or stay irritated with her and in the beginning I was. I’m going to be honest here….there’s an aspect to this book that got under my skin, but by midway through I realized that it wasn’t Lily I was angry with…it was the whole messed up situation that had become her life and Kieran’s life and even Dare’s life. My emotions were all over the place and for a brief moment I considered not finishing, but then when I put the book down the characters refused to leave me…I had to know more. Molly is just that good of a writer and it definitely shows in the Redemption series. Once I got past the back-in-forth I saw how strong and courageous Lily truly was and it made me warm up to her.
Dare is mafia boss and his entire family is rivals with Lily’s. Funny thing is…..they don’t know who the other is when they first meet. It’s a complete Romeo and Juliet situation, and so from there they fall in love with each other based on who each of them are as a person and not who their family is. On the outside Dare is the hard, crime lord but on the inside he’s genuine and sweet…Lily brings this out in him. I loved watching them together and when they were together it was easy to see they were meant for each other despite the world going up in flames around them.
“I was made to love you. I just found you in the wrong life.”
The pace flowed perfectly and really gave me time to fall in love with these characters. The side characters were just as amazing and even though the love-triangle aspect is something that I just can’t shake it was still an awesome read and beautifully written. This just proves that Molly deserves to be in my top 10 favorite authors of 2017!!!

A powerhouse romantic suspense that will have you questioning your morals and second guessing your view on love.
Molly grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband, daughter, and fur babies. When she’s not diving into the world of her characters, some of her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and long walks on the beach … which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies and fried pickles, and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm … or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren’t really happening.
